Meghan F. Wise
Ms. Wise was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania. She earned her undergraduate degree in 1977 from Vassar College in Poughkeepise, New York, majoring in Philosophy. Ms. Wise attended the evening division at Duquesne University School of Law while clerking during the day for Pittsburgh law firms. In her last year of law school, Ms. Wise earned the distinction of being chosen to teach Legal Research and Writing to first year students.
After graduation from law school in 1983, Ms. Wise served as a law clerk to the Honorable David W. Craig of the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania. In 1985, Ms. Wise joined the Pittsburgh law firm of Berkman, Ruslander, Pohl, Leiber & Engel as a litigation attorney. In 1991 Ms. Wise left private practice and became in-house counsel for Westinghouse Electric Corporation. At Westinghouse, she was responsible for the environmental insurance litigation, and also worked in the area of toxic torts. In 1996, Ms. Wise joined Zimmer Kunz where her expertise is insurance coverage litigation, commercial litigation, professional liability and appellate practice.
Ms. Wise is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Ohio. She is a member of the Defense Research Institute, and the Allegheny, Pennsylvania and American Bar Associations. She is a past chair of the Young Lawyers Section of Allegheny County, and has served in numerous capacities within that bar, including the Board of Governors, the Finance Committee and the Women in Law Committee. Ms. Wise has also served as a delegate to the American and Pennsylvania Bar Associations. She has taught Torts to the Paralegal Institute at Duquesne University, and has coached the Sewickley Academy Mock Trial Team for the past eight years. Ms. Wise serves on the Boards of the Insurance Professionals of Pittsburgh, the Sewickley Academy Alumni Association, the Old Sewickley Post Office Corporation and the Western Pennsylvania Race Club. She lives in Sewickley with her husband, John, and two teenage sons.
