ZK Result – Attorney Aaron Weiss Obtains Emergency Injunction for the Return of a Puppy

(Allegheny County, PA) (Sept. 2026). Zimmer Kunz attorney Aaron Weiss successfully argued and obtained a Preliminary Injunction requiring the return of a Bull Terrier puppy to his client.

The parties had entered into a Puppy Purchase Contract, which required that when that dog was bred, the plaintiff would have first pick of a puppy from that litter. When defendants refused to honor that contract, plaintiff filed (1) a civil lawsuit for Declaratory Judgment, Breach of Contract, Conversion, and Replevin, and (2) an Emergency Motion for Preliminary Injunction.

After briefing on the issue and approximately 8 hours of testimony from approximately 7 witnesses across the country, the Court granted the injunction and ordered the immediate return of the puppy to plaintiff.

As of September 14, 2026 the puppy was returned to the plaintiff and is now happy and thriving in his home. Special thanks to law clerks Kyra Blauth and Charlie Hepler for their help and legal research in support of this matter.

Defendants appealed the injunction Order and the matter is currently pending before the Superior Court. Zimmer Kunz looks forward to supporting the injunction Order on appeal.
